This is an earlier post that I made some changes.
Hillary has a few options in front of her. I hope she takes a week off before she makes any decisions. I remember the enormous pressure put on President Bill Clinton to sign the special prosecutor law. Hillary, please take you time.
The pressure you have received to drop out is plain wrong. Especially since no has enough pledged delegates for the nomination, and the nominee has to rely on super delegate support for the nomination. My hero FDR, came into the convention of 1932 with the most delegates, but did not claim the nomination until he was nominated at the convention.
If you suspend your campaign, like John Edwards, you can keep your delegates until the convention. During the next 3 months the GOP will begin its attacks. I remember Dukakis was 20 points ahead of Bush in August of 88.
Team Hillary, I hope you consider suspending your campaign, but keeping your delegates. The important thing is not irreversible unity in June, but rather a Democratic victory in November. We never know what the next 3 months holds. That's a lifetime in politics.

The blocking of votes for Florida and Michigan is one of the biggest travesties of the Obama campaign. Obama has shown his contempt of the voters rights when he eliminated all his opponents from the ballot in his first State Senate election. That was wrong then. It is wrong now to eliminate the voting rights of both Florida and Michigan.
When Lieberman ran for re-election in the Democratic primary in 2004, he was followed by a mascot of him kissing Bush. Called the kiss. I think Obama should be followed by mascots in the shape of Florida and Michigan. They should follow him everywhere he goes. To remind him of a conscience - which I am sure he has. To remind everyone that we are the Democratic Party in this Republic. That we are better then this. That we dont suppress votes, like the GOP in the 2000 Florida election. And that democracy is too important an issue just to let slide by for the benefit of one man.
Obama's speech did not address the substance of what is behind his association with Rev. Wright. The point is: this pastor preached anti-american hate, anti-white hate, and anti-semitic hate. And Obama was a close and strong member of his congregation for over 20 years. And Rev. Wright was Obama's spiritual counselor. This goes directly to the issue of Obama's judgement and character.
My problem with Obama is not about whether he can win the general election. But rather if I want this man, with his close association with Rev. Wright, to be our president. There have been 43 presidents of the US. Some great, some bad. But not one of them would of sat through a sermon listening to a preacher spred anti-american hate. Not once. Not for 20 years. None would have selected that pastor's church as his own. None would given that preacher $20,000 after knowing that man for 20 years. None would have repeatedly brought his children to hear the pastor. And everyone one of them would have had the guts to stand up to Wright and tell him what they thought. Obama never did this. And Obama never explained why.
